Strand Musicians to provide Strand Dance Orchestra for Gala Concert.

We are pleased to offer 3 Holiday Activity Weeks at The Lyceum this summer and 2 new weeks for the Salcey Cluster held at Roade Primary and Ashton Primary.

Pupils from Roade Primary School will be performing at the Roade Community Orchestra summer concert in July following some great samba workshops held during 2010. The aim is to enhance community cohesion between organisations in the village which we intend to develop further in 2011.

We have a new exciting downloads page, which gives children the opportunity to listen to their performances for free. We will provide login details when you book a workshop.

We are pleased to have performed at the Sheena Booth Music Trust Celebration Concert on 6th March. The trust will close this summer after donating over £125,000 in grants to a wide range of projects, and we would like to thank the trust for its support. Rhythmically Speaking hopes the work it continues to do in the community and with cluster schools extends the life of the SBMT in spirit.

Rhythmically Speaking is excited to announce it has commissioned a new composition ‘Looking at the Stars’ from Jason Carr. Following our two successful collaborations with sound collective, on our ‘Soldier’s Tale’ projects produced for Jackdaws Music EducationTrust in Somerset and Trinity College of Music in London, we wanted to create a new project and composition which had the scope for children to work and perform with a professional ensemble.
We will be again producing this for Jackdaws and full details will be on our website soon.

One of Rhythmically Speaking’s great strengths is to help schools organise and coordinate musical experiences and workshops for their pupils. This saves teachers’ time and resources which are needed in their day to day duties, and gives value for money for the schools who can spread the cost amongst each other. We are looking forward to developing our work with schools in the Salcey Cluster in Northamptonshire.
